Role at Te Kupenga: NCRS Resource Developer
Kate is from Auckland and has been teaching for 15 years. She began her career at St Dominic’s in Blockhouse Bay, Auckland, where she joined the wonderful Dominican community and her love for connecting children with their faith grew.
Having time as Director of Religious Studies at St Dominic’s gave her the opportunity to build on this further and explore Jesus’ model of leadership. Joining Te Kupenga in 2021 has been the next step on this part of her journey and she feels very honoured to be able to work with the NCRS team towards connecting children with their faith and building their relationship with God at a national level. Kate is passionate about the revitalization and normalization of te Reo Māori and tries to incorporate this into her work each day.
Kate loves to be with her family and friends, enjoying the joys of life, especially her husband Frank, and children, Sophia and Damynn who keep her very busy.
